Scarborough Photographic Society can trace its roots back over 100 years. As new technologies came and went it evolved into the club we are now. The 35mm film camera and the darkroom have given way to the Digital camera and the computer. However we are still an active, creative and competitive society. We always welcome prospective members no matter the level of your expertise. Come along to one or more of our meetings, Angela won't twist your arm the first few nights!
Scarborough Photographic Society is a member of The Yorkshire Photographic Union. www.ypu.org.uk/ The YPU is an organisation that dozens of Yorkshire camera clubs belong to. It organises competitions and each year has an assembly and exhibition. Scarborough recently had the honour of being hosts. The YPU is in turn affiliated with The Photographic Alliance Of Great Britain. www.pagb-photography-uk.co.uk/index.htm The PAGB organises national competitions as well as having links with similar organisations abroad. The PAGB also offers Awards For Photographic Merit, giving club members the oppotunity to get letters after their name!
